GEN ONE is a project that explores the stories of first generation New Zealanders. The GEN ONE community are a new wave of individuals, a fusion of two cultures and a bridge between two worlds. Throughout the journey of creating GEN ONE for my first year Communication Design Studio paper, I delved deeper into the Hindu faith. Understanding how others identify themselves helps us better understand ourselves and society as a whole. GEN ONE challenges viewers to take pride in and reflect on their own heritage while appreciating the beauty of other cultures within their social groups. For this project, I created a publication filled with imagery and information regarding Hinduism. The publication is part of a box set which also includes a set of postcards and a community map featuring other first generation New Zealanders.
